In his will, Mr. Adams left 25% of his estate to his wife and unevenly divided the balance between his son and his daughter. If the son received $36,000 as his share, what was the total value of the estate?

Is that all the information thats given? i mean thats kinda vague isnt it? the 36,000 could represent 1% of the total or 74%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

choices are 45,000, 72,000, 80,000, 90,000, not enough information

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take the first extreme if it was 75% of the total then 36,000 plus app 36,000/0.75 which gives 84000. if the 36,000 represented 70% then it would be 36,000 + 36,000/0.70= app 87000. so basically u can choose between 90000 or not enough info i would go with not enough info
