A bag contains 3 pairs of blue socks, 4 pairs of white socks, and 5 pairs of black socks, with the individual socks loosely mixed together. How many socks need to be drawn from the bag blindly (that is, without looking at the socks before or after each draw) to ensure that we got a pair?
13 tims? Do you have theanswer?
I have, but it is not 13
Okay. Look. My logic was that the maximum limiting condition would be one where You Have the One pair of all he Socks. I.E. You have 3 blue leftsor rights. 4 of the whites and 5 of th otheres. The sock drawn after this would give us a pair. And this would have a probability of one.
i would say 4
still not 4
you only have 3 different posibilities. In the most bad luck in first 3 time u will draw 3 different colours. The 4º time some colour will repeat. So you got a pair for sure. Other posibility is if u consider being a pair of socks two socks of different colours, :). So answer would be 2. That's how i see it.
Okay. Imagie the four drawn socks to be 3 Blue Lefts. 1 White. ^^ No pair
Dunno. Depends.
the answer is 2
so its kind of funny quiz
Doesnt make sense to me :|
:)
the doesnt require to have a pair of socks of the same color, so the answer is 2
Ohhhh. Damn.Lol.
