If h(x) = x − 1 and j(x) = −4x, find h[j(5)]. −19 −21 −16 −20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

j(5)= -4(5), -20. now take 20 and plug that into h(x) like (-20)-1 giving you -21. think of h[j(5)] from inner to outer, first thing happening to the 5 is running it through the fuction j(x) then run that answer through the h function to arrive at -21
