how do you figure out this question?-- a ball is tossed into the air fro a hieght f 10ft with an intial velocity of 12ft/sec. find the time t ( in secs) for the object to reach the ground by solving the equation h=-16t^2+vt+s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you'll need to solve the quadratic 0=-16t^2 + (12ft/sec)t + (10 ft). You'll get 2 values of t so choose the one that's positive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here s = displacement from original position = 10, v = 12 , h = 0
