How did the US help rebuild Europe after WWII? please explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Check the Marshall Plan

I did and i can't find anything that I can understand

Well, when the WWII ended, the US wanted to reafirm their sovereignty. So you should try to understand the Marshall Plan. Also, you should check about the gold and the mining that european countries granted to them. That's one of the greatest reasons of US having economic power.

I didn't find any website that could help you, so I will just tell you a little more about the Marshall Plan. The US had to recover from all the war effort, since large US industries helped to finance the Allies. So it was created the Marshall Plan that aimed to rebuild a devasted Europe. So much money were injected, not only for the reconstruction of european cities but also for recovering the economic structure. It's like the theory of Keynes: the state inject funds to create jobs so people will buy stuff and therefore it will boost the production. Of course US was also recovering its economy, since that only north american companies were able to provide the goods for the european reconstruction, also expecting the return of the finances.

Anyway you should check the particularities of the Marshall Plan, so you can actually understand what was the United States purpose.

US were basically afraid of Europe becoming Communist.. so they supplied european countries to make partnership relationship. This is also was one of the main reasons of Cold war between Russia and US
