Essentially the same concept of horizontal/vertical shifts, except it is upside down (all values of |x + 3| become negative, flipping the graph upside down)

|dw:1331500874347:dw| something like that, only it'd be nicer on graph paper no, |x + 3| is a horizontal shift in the form |x - h|, so h = -3. Three units to the left. it would be a vertical shift up 2, however.
