why there is no tissues in phylum porifera?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Phylum porifera are very sad creatures and use up all the tissues crying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ha ha!!! crying? seriously?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

phyum porifera consists of sponges mostly! they dont have nervous, digestive or circulatory systems..they r sessile aquatic animals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as the colleages have said, this phylum refers to sponges. these animals are considered the most primitive of the metazoan organisms. although they are pluricellular, their cells are so independent one from each other than instead of being a single organisms it it rather like a colony in which the distinct cells share different tasks. besides in true tissues, cells are joined through very sophisticated systems that keep them together (gap junctions for example) and sponges are made of cells sorrounded by a substance similar to gel, that is conective tissue. a proof of this: take a sponge, separate all its cells aparte or cut a piece of it and you will see the amazing capacity for regeneration.
