what do you mean by adiabatic process?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A process in which dQ=0 i.e where there is no loss or gain of heat is called an adiabatic process

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats correct.... no loss of heat or energy U =q+V......where U =0...

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

a thermodynamic process which occurs spontaneously.. pressure, volume and temperature all changes.. however no energy (heat) is supplied or evolved..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"A process in which no heat energy is transferred between the system and the environment" - Physics for Scientists and Engineers, Knight Adiabatic Cooling-"Cooling by expansion, such as in rising air." Adiabatic Warming-"Warming by compression, such as in descending air." -McKnight's Physical Geography
