Could anyone please help me with an essay from one of these topics? -no pain, no gain. -would u rather create an environmental friendly or industrial city? Why? -which city or historical object would you like to visit? Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What kind of essay is it supposed to be? Persuasive? Informative? Personally I would think the later would be more informative, and the second would be the persuasive. I myself wouldn't bother with the first one if I had a choice.

Yes it is a informative essay and i was thinking choosing the first topic to wirte but i have no idea on how to start it :( please help me if you can

OpenStudy (msmr):

The first step in essay-writing is brainstorming. Sit down and write everything you think of about "no pain, no gain." Personal experiences? What do you associate with it? What pain/what gain? Do you agree? Disagree? Don't try to form an essay yet, just write as much as possible (it doesn't have to be in complete sentences or anything) about your topic.

OpenStudy (msmr):

Then, look for patterns. What do you write the most about? What do you know the least about? What would you be interested in reading? What would be good research material? Have you come up with anything unique or different, something that isn't common knowledge? That will help you narrow down the list of topics for your essay.

OpenStudy (msmr):

Let's say that you agree with the concept of "No pain, no gain," and you want to explain the different types of pain and the different types of pain. Try to separate your brainstorming into separate lists or groups. For example, maybe "pain" in this instance means physical pain. You could explain how athletes have to spend an enormous amount of time working out and practicing in order to hone their skills. That might be physically challenging, but it makes them stronger or more skilled. Pain could also refer to mental pain. Perhaps it means stress or hard work. In order to succeed in school, for example, it often takes a lot of late night studying and other work to pass your courses. Pain could stem from a variety of different sources.

OpenStudy (msmr):

Next, research your topic. Learn as much as possible about it.

OpenStudy (msmr):

, make an outline. How many paragraphs do you need? What type of essay are you writing? You might want to write a cause and effect essay. Write down your main points and some examples that you think up. Jot down some facts from your research or underline points you think the audience might not understand immediately. Pretend you know nothing about the topic. What would confuse you? What do you understand well? The goal is to inform and educate.

Thank you MSMR, thank you a lot, it was really helpful. I finished my essay and it's quite good. I really appreciate it. Cheers :)
