The school that Stefan goes to is selling tickets to a choral performance. On the first day of ticket sales the school sold 3 senior citizen tickets and 1 child ticket for a total of 38 dollars. The school took in 52 dollars on the second day by selling 3 senior citizen tickets and 2 child tickets. Find the price of the senior citizen ticket and the price of the child ticket. *need two equations*

OpenStudy (vishal_kothari):

well let X be the income for day one. and Y be the income for day two. since the only difference is 1 more child ticket, all you would do to start with is Y-X=C with C being the cost of the child ticket. then X-C=3S with S being the senior citizen ticket. then just take whatever 3S is and dived that by 3, since there were 3 SC tickets.
