Recursion: wrong place but help if u can. Recursion program that convert decimal to hexadecimal. THANKS

In main menu, it calls convert(num,base,cstringResult), where num is 31, and base is 16, and cstringResult is null

//convert function
char(or string?) convert(int num,int base,char ans[])
{
....//need help
convert(num/base,base,ans)
.....//need help
}
