Write each equation in slope-intercept from and then find the slope and y-intercept. x-4y=8
Forgive me if I go over something you know. Slope Intercept Form is written as: \[y=mx+b\]where y is the position on the y axis, x is the position on the x axis, and b is the y intercept. So what we need to do is do some basic algebra to arrange the formula in SIF. I do it without looking at formulas, I just think what do I do I have to do to get Y totally alone. So I do this:\[x-4y=8\]\[-4y=8-x\]\[y=-2-1/4x\]\[y=1/4x-2\] for the first step I subtracted x from both sides for the second step I divided both sides by -4 (remember you have to divide EVERY term by -4, not just one on each side) and I finally just rearranged the right side so x term came first
