Bridget has a kitchen canister, in the shape of a cylinder, which holds flour. If the canister is 24 centimeters wide and 26 centimeters tall, what is its approximate surface area in terms of pi? 624π square centimeters 912π square centimeters 1,248π square centimeters 1,296π square centimeters

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

SA = 2pi*r^2 + 2pi*r*h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SA= 2(3.14)x24(2) + 2(3.14)x24x26?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

almost, 24 in wide refers to diameter of circle base radius = 12 also for this one you don't have to multiply by 3.14

Okay so when dealing with pi, I just leave it alone or do I multiply by 2? I keep getting 672.
