Please explain how you got your answer. Fiona drew the figure shown below. The area of rectangle BEDF is 24 square centimeters. What is the area in square centimeters of triangle ABC? A. 30 B. 50 C. 100 D. 200

If the area of that rectangle is 24 and one of its dimensions is 6, that must mean the other is 4 since 24/6 = 4. Opposite sides of a rectangle are equal, so the legs (it's a right triangle, want me to explain why?) of triangle CDF are 6 and 6. The legs of triangle ADE are 4 and 4. Now, finding the area of those two triangles (A = bh/2): 4*4*(1/2) = 8 6*6*(1/2) = 18 Adding all the parts, 8 + 18 + 24 = 50 B. 50 units²
