Local ranchers have expanded the grazing area of their cattle. How will this impact the river that runs along their lands? 1. Animal wastes will run into the river with every rainfall. 2. Animal wastes will decompose and add important nutrients to the river. 3. Cattle will pollute the river by using it as source of water. 4. This will not impact the river significantly. I'm leaning towards 3 and 4.
Thank you for posting up your guess and asking us to check it for you instead of just posting the question by itself! I think that the answer is one. Animal wastes have been shown to be a major source of pollution in water sources. The actual act of cattle drinking from the water won't add anything to the water, as number three suggests. And it certainly will impact the river, so I disagree with number four.
