Using complete sentences, explain how to graph y= 0.5x-3 usig the slope intercept

OpenStudy (stacey):

The y-intercept is at -3, so plot the point (0, -3). The slope is 0.5, or 1/2, so for every +1 change in y there is a +2 change in x. To use this to graph, put your pencil at (0, -3). Then move you pencil up one unit to (0, -2) and then to the two units to (2, -2). (2, -2) is another point on the line. Draw the line through (0, -3) and (2, -2) and you will have the graph.|dw:1333073102646:dw|
