hello need to see if there is an algebraic solution to a word problem. luke has $21 more than rachel and $48 more than daniel. altogether they have $168. how much does luke have?

OpenStudy (igloo3000):

168-48-21

OpenStudy (schrodinger):

Okay, let's set this up where l = luke, r = rachel, and d = daniel. \[l=r+21=d+48...l+r+d=168.\]

OpenStudy (igloo3000):

ohh never mind

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i figured it out the long way and got luke to =$79. took me a while wanted to see if algebraically it could be solved quicker...
