WHAT IS THE SLOPE INTERCEPT FORM?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Y=mx+b

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

"M" Stands for the slope "B" stands for the y-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO I I HAVE (2,3) SLOPE 1/4?

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

You need to find an equation for it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

If you do, we use the equation: (y-y1) = m (x-x1) Plug in "1/4" for m (x1,y1) are your given points (2,3) (So 2 = x1, 3 = y1) Plug it in and solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

CAN U DO THIS ONE FO ME THEN I CAN GET THE HANG OF IT CUSE I HAVE MORE OF THESE PROBLEMS

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

Can you atleast plug in those values for me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I GOT 3Y=1/4X-1/2

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

(y - 3) = 1/4 (x-2) (y-3) = 1/4x - 1/2 y = 1/4x - 1/2 + 3 Simplify and you have your answer :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 1/4x-1/6

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

Try again. Remember to find the common denominator between 1/2 and 3/1 (not 1/3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant get it in the book it gives e y=1/4x+5/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u just give it to me step to to step please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are u gonna help p me

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

1/2+3, convert 1/2 into a decimal. 1/2=0.5, add 0.5+3, maybe it will be easier.
