OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = -2x – 6 Find the x- and y-intercepts for the equation. Please show all of your work

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the x-intercept is when y=0 the y-intercept is when x=0 \[y = -2x – 6\] solving for the x intercept \[\rightarrow 0=-2x-6\]\[2x=-6\]\[x=-3\] so the co-ordinate for the x intercept is \[(-3,0)\]

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

solving for the y-intercept \[\rightarrow y = – 6\]\[(0,-6)\]
