Why should andrew johnson have been removed from office after being Impeached

The reasons for Johnson's impeachment are somewhat complicated, but stemmed from political infighting. A big part of the impeachment decision was due to Johnson's dismissal of his Secretary of War, Edward Stanton. Johnson inherited Stanton when he took office, but wanted to replace him. However, Congress wanted to keep Stanton and passed a law designed to protect him, overriding a presidential veto to do it. To get around the law, Johnson waited until Congress was not in session and suspended Stanton. Obviously Congress was not happy about this and set about to impeach him. You can read more about this and other famous trials at the University of Missouri-Kansas City's School of Law here: http://law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/impeach/impeachmt.htm This should help get you started, though you will need to frame up your reasons for why impeachment should result in removal from office.
