Which ordered pair is a solution of the inequality? y4x - 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y>=4x-5

OpenStudy (phi):

if you are given a pair of numbers (x,y) for example (1,2) where the first number is assumed to be x, the 2nd is y. Replace x in 4x-5 with the first number in the pair (1,2) 4*1-5 and simplify 4-5= -1 so is the 2nd number in (1,2) greater than -1? Is 2> -1 ? Yes. so (1,2) is a solution.
