OpenStudy (precal):

set them equal to each other 2x-3=71 solve for x

OpenStudy (precal):

I think they are called alt. ext. angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When a line intersects two parallel lines, it is called the transversal. It creates alternate exterior and interior angles. Alternate angles are equal to eachother. It also creates adjacent angles which are supplementary, and they add up to equal 180 degrees.

Hmm still kinda confusing :(

OpenStudy (precal):

angle 11 is equal to angle 9 according to alt ext angles 2x-3=71 add 3 to both sides divide by 2 to both sides and you will have your x value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh so there bringing algebra in geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i take it its the same for part 2 of the question ?

OpenStudy (precal):

Yes, that is why Algebra is taught first, then geometry, as you go up in mathematics all skills are brought forth Calculus is a big punchbowl of mathematics It is like IRON CHEF
