Mr. Rasmussen laid 9 bricks in a row to make a walking path through his garden. If each brick has a length of 8 inches, a width of inches, and a height of 3 inches, what is the surface area of the walkway? 677 sq in. 741 sq in. 756 sq in. 49 sq in. Pic below :) thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

surface area = (9*8*3.5) + (2*9*3.5*3) + (2*8*3) = 252 + 189 + 48 = 489 sqin I think u hv typed the last option wrong.....it should be 489

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Options: 677 sq in. 741 sq in. 756 sq in. 84 sq in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pls check again....... my calculations r right....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats why :| i didn't show you 3.5 that should be the width

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I got that from the attached picture and used it in my calculations.... I think you r giving answers for a similar problem ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm ira mw .Noah but this are the only options i have 677 sq in. 741 sq in. 756 sq in. 84 sq in

@Harkirat Heres the picture of the whole thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry friend, none of the answers fit........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aw =(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for trying =]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is only one way to calculate the surface area of a composite figure. ------this is false statement

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks =D
