yeah, I think about it often,  but some mad ideas, hypothesis struck my mind regarding this empty space ...

Empty space is generally considered to be vacuum. That is why we can see the light of the stars in the night sky. If it were gases or some other matter all the way, the light coming from distant stars would have been absorbed completely on the way, and we would see nothing on the night sky but black.
That is just a possible theory.
