Rhonda wants to draw a picture of the 60 foot whale shark using a scale of 1/4 inch=5 feet. What will be the length, in inches, of the whale in her drawing?

if 5 feet = 1/4 inch then multiply both sides by 12 to get to 60 feet: 5 feet x12 = 1/4 inches x12 60 feet = 12/4 inches 12/4 inches = 3 inches so the drawing of the shark will be 3 inches.
