What I actuallly wanted to ask with my previous question: "Shadow generating function" applied to cubics. y1=(x+2)(x-(3+2i))(x-(3-2i)) y2=(x+2)(x-(3+2))(x-(3-2)) What are the points of intersection? I get x1=3 x2=3 which makes no sense with the graph... I must be doing something wrong.

Is i^2= -1 or is it a variable?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i^2=-1

Compare the graphs.

ah no thats not y^2 its like g(x). I meant y1 as f(x) and y2 as g(x). sorry.
