Omar had to read articles 26 through 50 for homework last night. If Omar read all of the articles he was assigned, how many articles did he read ?

That is because article 26 is counted as one. Take for example Omar read 26 to 28 articles. If we just minus the total from the article number we get 2, but he read number 26, 27 and 28 which is 3.
