In a recent year, 6.5 × 10^8 metric tons of wheat were produced in the world. One metric ton is equivalent to 1000 kilograms. A grain of wheat weighs about 0.000008 kilogram. Can someone Find the number of grains of wheat that were produced in the world in scientific form.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

start by finding the number of grains in a tonne 1000/0.000008 = 1.25 x 10^8 grains in a tonne then in 6.5 x 10^8 tonnes mutlply by the number of grains in 1 tonne (6.5 x 10^8) x (1.25 x 10^8) = 8.125 x 10^16 grains in 6.5 x 10^8 tonnes
