A wire attached to a barn makes an angle of 56 degrees with the ground when anchored 16 m from the base of the barn. How far up the building does the wire reach, to the nearest hundredth of a meter? Show all work for each angle.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

is the lenth of the wire given? coz it would make this problem a lot easier...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

ok...then ill just get the length of the wire... cos theta = adjacent/hypotenuse cos(56) = 16/h h = 16/cos(56) h=28.61 sin theta = opposite/hypotenuse sin(56) = O/h o = hsin(56) o = 28.61(sin(56)) o = 23.72 m
