Which expression is equivalent to 5(c + b) + 9b – 3c? 4b – 8c 14b + 2c 14b – 2c 4b + 8c

When you distribute the 5 to the binomial (c + b) you'll have 5c + 5b + 9b -3c It might help to first arrange the terms in descending order. This means take a look at your variables : c and b. Which comes first alphabetically? B. So, 5b + 9b + 5c -3c You could also take it a step further to make it more simple and factor out the b and c and have (5 + 9)b + (5 - 3)c Five plus nine is fourteen. Now, just multiply fourteen by b = 14b Five minus three is two. Multiply two by c = 2c So : 14b + 2c
