Can someone explain how to use the alternating series remainder theorem? I read the theorem and the proof and I still don't get it. This is what I understand: Supposedly if a question says to approximate the sum of the following by it's first....say six terms, you would first find the sum of the series (of the six terms) and get a number. I don't really understand what to do after that (with the abs(s-sn) =R.
