solve 2x+9>x+19 Thanks!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

show that you tried it and ill help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did try it and I came up with 3x>29, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now I came up with 3x>10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok for example say x is = 50 2x+9>x+19 2(50)>50+19 100>69 100 is greater than 69 ie 100>69 when i was in school the > was called an alligator and would open its mouth to the bigger number it waas greedy so to solve for x 2x+9>x+19 2x-x+9>19 x+9>19 see if you can do the last bit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the x considered 1x or do I just add it to 9 and say 9x>19?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what number when added to 9 is greater than 19 yes x= 1x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I got this so far 1x+9>19 and x is equal to 11.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what age are you? yes very good 11 is a correct answer so too finish it off 1x>19-9 1x>10 like you said 11 work so does 10.0000000000000000000000000000000001 so any number greater than 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am 33, how old are you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm 21 , what are you studying, i hope you understood what i tried to explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Psychology and yeah I did, I use to be great at algebra but it's been so many years since I've done it I have forgot most of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where do you go yo school?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I meant to school
