pie can be written in the form of 22/7 i.e p/q and still it is irrational why?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

because pi is not equal to 22/7

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

22/7=3.1428... only right to two decimals... idk there might be some other reason

OpenStudy (anonymous):

355/113 is better

OpenStudy (phi):

22/7 is just a convenient approximation to the correct value of pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if its value is 22/7 then how is it irrational? that is my que

OpenStudy (phi):

Read the above posts. pi is not 22/7 22/7 is a useful approximate value. pi is irrational, 22/7 is a rational value "close" to pi (depends what we mean by close)
