Which of the following changes is chemical rather than physical? Water is boiled. Aluminum foil is crumpled. Glass is shattered. Wood is burned.

when water is boiled this is a physical change. the same with alum. and glass. they are physical changes. when you bur wood, the fire chemically changes the componants of the wood to something else. i.e. the plant cellulose changes to c02 and water vapor. the wood changes to something other than hot wood.

As just like many halogens Aluminum molecules contains covalent bonds. covalent bonds are not strong enough when comparing with other types of bonds. so they break easily. That's why Aluminum foil can be crumpled. And it's chemistry as i know.. :)
