What is the vertex of f(x) = |5x| + 2?

Directrix (directrix):

The least value that |5x| can be is 0 and that is when x = 0. Then, there's the 2 added to it. Look for the vertex at the point (0,2). Absolute value graphs generally come in a V-shape. Take a look at the graph at http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%7C5x%7C+%2B+2+%3D+y
