So find the area first. Which is width times the length.

So you have 36ft. times 20ft. Which gets you 720 square feet.

Now multiply the area times the height to find the volume. First let's change the height in inches to feet.

Since there are 12 inches to a foot. Then 2 inches must be 2/12 ft.

So now let's multiply 2/12 feet times 720 square feet. We get (2)(720)/12 = 120 cubic feet of sand.
