hi again, I just worked this equation, -14 = y + 8 and got -22=y. But the directions say to use the addition property of equality. I subtracted 8 from both sides to get that? Am I doing it wrong? Hep me somebody hep me, LOL!!

Yes, but just to the -14, so then that is using the addition property even if it's only on one side?

the addition property of equality.   that allows you to add -8 to both sides.

afterwards you can simplify y+8-8 to just y
