"convert 3/4 into hrs" is not a very precise statement. I took it to mean, what is 3/4 ths of an hour. If you divide 60 minutes, one hour, by 4 then you end up with 15 minutes per quarter of an hour. Three times 15 minutes is 45 minutes or three quarters of an hour. If you divide 3 by 4 as an arithematic problem, you will obtain 0.75 . 0.75 times 60 minutes should work out to 45 minutes. 0.75 can also be interpreted as 75%. 75% of an hour is 0.75 hours or 45 minutes. I hope the above response will answer your question(s).
