I think my Openstudy account is connected to my Facebook account...Can I stop this?

OpenStudy (across):

Is it bothering you that OS is automatically posting things on your FB wall, or do you simply not want to have your OS account linked to your FB one? I ask this because I am curious as to whether OS does automatically post updates to your FB wall.

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

i just dont want it linked to my fb account

OpenStudy (across):

In that case, this is a good question, and I would like to know the answer to it as well. :) By the way, is it just me, or does OS require you have a FB (or similar) account to create one here?

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

umm i dont remember

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Howdy hullo, @Mathhelp346, you may be in luck. We normally don't offer such services, but today we're running a special: Disconnect yr FB account for FREE!!! Let me look into this real quick and get back to you. @across, OS doesn't require a FB account to register. You can signup for the site with no other account necessary.

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Oh also, @across, we don't automatically post any updates without asking first. At this point, the only thing for which posting to FB would happen is if you clicked our big ole FB buttons, but even then you'd still get a message to confirm.

OpenStudy (across):

Beautiful. :) That is good to know. Thank you for your response, mattfeury!

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

@Mathhelp346, yr Facebook account has been disassociated with yr OS account. You may want to log out and log back in in order to avoid any weirdness, but you should be good to go.

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

thank you :D

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Notably, we are considering tapping into some of facebook's frictionless sharing stuff. We would let you opt out, but this would be the rough equivalent of what spotify now does (where it posts what you're listening to), except we'd do it with stuff you're studying. This is still in the thinking/discussion stages though, so no need to panic!
