They were a new deal for Americans because they offered the people jobs and opportunities to get out of the awefulness the Depression had brought them into. You have to remember that jobs were scarce back then and with so much unemployment, the offering of 100s of new jobs was a great benefit to lots of Americans. At this point in history, the New Deal most definitly provided them with a new deal. It gave them the hope and ability to move out of the Depression.
