use substitution to solve each system of linear equations. y=x+18 y=3x i have been stuck on this problem for about an hour.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then just put 3x instead of where y is on the equation, so then it is 3x = x +18 and now simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since u move x to the other side to feet with the other x's, it becomes negative, and so it is now 3x - x = 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it becomes 2x = 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which makes x= 9
