polynomial question? (5m^3 + 3mn^2) + (-7m^2n+mn^2-n3) - (mn^2 + 2m^3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whoa that lloks hard

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha polynomials typically aren't *that* hard but I'm stuck on this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(5m^3 + 3mn^2) + (-7m^2n+mn^2-n^3) - (mn^2 + 2m^3)\]distribute the minus sign and get \[5m^3 + 3mn^2 -7m^2n+mn^2-n^3 - mn^2 - 2m^3\]then we have to identify the like terms and combine them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like terms means same variables and same expontents \[5m^3-2m^3+3mn^2-mn^2-7m^2n+mn^2-n^3\] putting the like terms next to each other, then combine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3m^3+2mn^2-6m^2n-n^3\] if my algebra is right, and that would be the final answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you SO much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw, but please check my answer because i just typed it without using pencil and paper so there could be a mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay no probs.
