@sebasss I disagree. The answer would be Pliocene. There are two theories on how the Isthmus was formed. The first theory describes this volcanic arc as an archipelago, a sweep of volcanic islands that were eventually uplifted and augmented through volcanic activity to form the Isthmus. The second theory suggests that the peninsula had already risen above sea level at a much earlier time.
