What is the least common multiple, LCM, of the two polynomials? (x + 3) and (x^2 - 9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The LCM of (x + 3) and (x^2 - 9) is the (x^2 - 9) You get this by realizing thay (x^2 - 9) factors to (x + 3)(x - 3) and the (x + 3) is not needed twice for LCM. So the (x^2 - 9) contains all the factors needed for an LCM.
