For the book, "Lord of the Flies", critics say that the allegory ends when the naval officer shows up and rescues the boys. Up to this point, they argue everything on the island represents something in the adult, civilized world. They say it ends with the arrival of the officer because "Who will rescue the adults like the officer rescues the boys?" Do you think the allegory ends there? Why?
