Describe the passage of milk from the areolar cells of the mammary gland to the nipple. What is mastitis ? How does mastitis affect milk production ? any help would be apreciated!!!! THANK YOU...

Mastitis refers to any inflammation of breast tissue and is usually caused by bacteria called S. aureus. I am pretty sure that it decreases milk production but not sure of the specific mechanism...

I think probably has to do with actual mechanical inhibition of milk flow as swollen cells block the ducts.
