With the rise in breast cancer and prostate cancer, cite several reasons for using screening methods for these 2 conditions. PLEASE help thanks...

It helps us help you understand the question (and the answer) if you also explain what about it you don't understand...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is it important to use the screening method for the two?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They're easy to test for PSA bloodtest for the prostatecancer, Mammography for breastcancer, they're fairly easy operatable, they can metastasize elsewhere and you'll have another cancer on your hands, Did i mention that having cancer is bad in general?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do they give immediate results?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or more acccurate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Highly elavated levels of PSA indicates the possibilty of cancer, but doesn't necessarily have to be Prostacancer. But if PSA levels are normal no further profylactic investigation is needed. Mammography is much more conclussive result and it's fairly accurate in the sense it VERY rarely misses breastcancer, it can however provide a false positive.

Very rarely may be exaggerated but, it's uncommon.
