Find the average rate of change of the function f over the given interval. f(x) = 0.25x^4 - x^2 - 9x + 8 from x = - 4 to x=3 How would you go about solving this problem?

OpenStudy (eyust707):

plug in x= -4 this gives you a y value for when x equals -4. then do the same for x=3. now you have two points. one at the begining and one at the end.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

the slope of the line that would connect those two points is the average rate of change
