What was the main goal of the renaissance (which was a turning point)

To main goal was to introduce a new of reason. People wanted to turn away from religion being the answer/solution to every question and every problem. Morever, the introduction of scientific reasons was encouraged as new forms of answers to various qeustions related to the state of being and other philosophical questions.

well there were more new thinkers, such as Montesque and Locke who supported the consent of the people over the monarchy in terms of making decisions for the nation. also, the thinking became more rationale and liberal, rather than orthodox and conservative :)
