factor 2x^2+3-4x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can it be factored though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by hand

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

well using quadratics.. actually it's not even factorable over reals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but wouldnt -3 and -1 work since it equals product of 3 and sum of -4?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

yea but what about that 2 in front of x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cant it just be outside the parenthesis?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

no because if u take it outside u'll have to distribute it back in.. if you had: 2x^2+2*3-2*4x, then that wouldn't be a problem
